The portable fish finder can display water depth, approximate fish location, and identify short and tall weeds, as well as sand and rocks on the bottom. It also provides water temperature and barometric pressure readings, allowing you to better judge the fishing spot and conditions. The fish alarm will alert you when fish or schools of fish appear, and you can distinguish between small and large fish based on the fish icons displayed.

There are three main ways to use the portable fish finder from a kayak or boat: 1) Throw the sonar transducer and float into the water, 2) Attach the transducer to the hull of the boat or kayak, or 3) Attach the transducer to a mounting arm and lower it into the water.

For ice fishing, you'll need to clear away snow to expose the ice surface, then place the sonar transducer directly on the ice, ensuring it is free of air bubbles. If desired, you can drill a hole in the ice and lower the transducer into the water for more accurate readings.

When shore fishing, cast the sonar transducer and float into the water, and use a fishing pole to guide the transducer to the desired position.

The wired fish finder allows you to adjust the sensitivity according to your fishing environment, with different modes and settings built-in to cater for fishing beginners. The device can also remember your previous settings when you turn it on.

In addition to depth, the portable fish finder can display water temperature to help you assess the fishing environment. Air pressure data is also available, allowing you to better understand the relationship between fish behavior and weather conditions. The measurement units for depth and temperature can be freely switched between FT/M and °F/°C.
